Tosoh Bioscience GmbH launched a new affinity column – TSKgel FcR-IIIA-NPR – based on a recombinant FcγIIIa receptor ligand. The column is designed for fast assessment for biologic activity of mAbs. The FcγIIIa receptor plays a key role in antibody-dependent cell mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC) by interacting with the N-glycans of the Fc domain of immunoglobulins. Hence, affinity chromatography using immobilized Fc receptor ligands can deliver valuable information about ADCC activity of therapeutic antibodies. As the interaction/affinity is influenced by N-glycans the separation profile also reflect the antibodies glycoform pattern.
