Amsterdam, 4th July 2017: Ubm emea announces that its CPhI events, the largest dedicated pharma exhibition series in the world, will welcome over 100,000 attendees to Asia in 2017. UBM hosts five CPhI events in the region – including industry flagships CPhI & P-MEC China, CPhI & P-MEC India, and CPhI Japan, as well as high growth events, CPhI South East Asia and CPhI Korea.

UBM’s strategy in Asia is to serve the largest pharma industries by creating locally tailored events that maximize opportunities for exhibiting companies to meet with potential partners, both from the domestic market, but also new customers regionally and internationally. These events act as a hub to help businesses grow in new markets, whilst also providing bespoke content programmes, with new learnings, practical solutions, industry trends and developments.

CPhI South East Asia closed its sixth edition in late March 2017 with over 5,000 attendees and 260 exhibitors. The 2017 event featured three special components: the Investment Forum, the expanded Distributor’s Network and an ASEAN-India Trade Forum, aimed at addressing the industry needs.

CPhI Japan in turn, hosted more than 500 exhibitors from 30 countries and over 20,000 attendees from over 100 countries across the globe. The event took place in Tokyo from the 19th – 21st April 2017.

Following the success of the first CPhI India Pharma Week in 2016, CPhI & P-MEC China – which attracts over 40,000 visitors from more than 120 countries – has further expanded its platform with the launch of CPhI China Pharma Week (19-23 June 2017). A five day networking and new business event covering the full spectrum of the pharmaceutical industry in China.

Finally, demonstrating CPhI’s continued growth in the region, CPhI Korea takes place from the 22nd to the 24th of August in Seoul. The event saw a 16% increase in exhibitors and a 44% increase in overseas visitors, with 5000 attendees in total during 2016. Then on November 27-30th, 2017, the 11th edition of CPhI & P-MEC India will return with an expected 40,000+ participants.

Andreas Mavrommatis, Global Marketing Director at Ubm emea commented, “Our strategy in Asia is to leverage the credibility of the global CPhI brand and help these markets fully harness the prestigious growth potential Asian pharma economies present. CPhI is helping to internationalise these economies by bringing pharma partners together and advancing the industry through new insights and trends. The brand has cemented its place across Asia thanks to UBM’s core principle of building platforms that address our customers’ unique needs in each market.”
