Would you like to gain a deeper understanding of mass spectrometry (MS) as an analytical technique? This training covers the fundamental principles of mass spectrometry and provides a step-by-step explanation of the key components of a mass spectrometer, from the interface through to the detector and vacuum system.
The training is based on the gas chromatography platform of Agilent Technologies and takes place in the application laboratory at the Da Vinci Laboratory Solutions headquarters in Rotterdam.
During this one-day course, the following topics will be covered:
Fundamental principles and terminology
Mass spectrometer instrumentation
Tuning and mass calibration
Effects of different parameters
Data acquisition methods: Full Scan and/or SIM
Introduction to mass spectral interpretation
Qualitative and quantitative analysis
Library searching
Electron Impact (EI) vs. Chemical Ionization (CI)
Basic Training MS: 2 June 2026
